How Custom Card Co Started
Growing up, trading cards were everything.
AFL, basketball, Pokémon. It wasn’t just about the cards, it was the excitement, the chase, and the memories that came with them.
I’m a 90s kid, and if you know, you know.
That era had a certain look and feel. Bold colours, loud designs, cards that just felt different.
Like most people, I grew out of it.
Until 2025.
I took my kids to a card show and something clicked.
Seeing the way kids lit up over cards, the same way I used to, brought it all back.
But I also noticed something else.
My kids loved seeing photos of themselves.
That’s where the idea started.
What if kids could have their own trading cards?
Turning an idea into reality
What started as a simple idea quickly turned into something much bigger.
I spent countless hours testing, learning, and figuring it out. Different materials, designs, finishes. Everything.
A lot of trial and error.
A lot of late nights.
But slowly, those early versions turned into something I was proud of.
Built with a 90s influence
Custom Card Co is heavily inspired by that 90s trading card era.
The bold teal and purple, the loud designs, the wow factor. That’s what made cards exciting.
That’s why those colours are part of our identity today.
It’s about bringing that same energy back, but with a modern feel and making it personal.
